2022 'Margaret'

2022 'Margaret' is sophisticated and multi-layered.

From Woodlands Vineyard, it's a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 5% Malbec.

The fruit was hand-picked between 18th March and 8th April, destemmed and hand-sorted, then transferred to stainless steel fermenters. The must spent 24 days on skins, and after pressing the wine matured in French barrels for 18 months, of which 44% were new.

This colour is an intense ruby hue. The nose is shy at first, but as it opens up layers of red fruits emerge- red plums and cranberries - integrated with tight-grain oak.

The power of the vintage really shows on the palate. All density and drive, rich ripe fruits are there - but with so much structure and tannin just beneath, it's asking to be cellared.

This wine will truly excel with age! Best to open between 2032-2037.
