2022 Reserve De La Cave Malbec

Produced since 2002, our Réserve de la Cave wines are made from our 1976 plantings on the south facing slope of the Woodlands Vineyard.

This wine is 100% Malbec.

Each wine is was made simply. After being hand- picked, it's destemmed and hand sorted into a small open fermenter. Following fermentation the wine was transferred to new French oak for 15 months.

As always, our Malbec stands alone in character. The colour alone is intoxicating, an incredibly deep crimson.

The bouquet is intensely perfumed, layering ripe black fruits with notes of dried thyme, violet and finely integrated oak spice.

The palate is concentrated, juicy and remarkably expressive, showcasing a vibrant core of black fruit framed by savoury, chalky tannins. Powerful yet poised, it finishes long, focused and persistent.

Built for long-term cellaring, this wine will reward patience and is best enjoyed from 2034 onwards.

This wine is built for ageing. Best enjoyed from 2034.

Only 300 bottles of this wine were produced, with each bottle being hand numbered.
